When using the 'Track Waypoint' feature, the QDM/QDR are given in the Search/Position block at the top of the chart.

It would be nice if the QDM could be replicated with a needle pointer on the HSI instrument (as in an RMI) when this feature is being used.

(A really nice supplementary feature would be the option to enable ADF dip on the needle. This would help when training pilots for the UK the IR and IMC rating in areas where accessible NDBs are thin on the ground).)

I had to double check this one. The bug on the HSI is used when the "track radial" function is activated. It's not a function I normally use, but it adds a line on the chart extending from a waypoint at a specified radial, and when active, the HSI switches into a tracking mode for that waypoint.

If I understand correctly, you'd like the bug to also work when not using track radial, but just when tracking a waypoint? So that it would move around the dial and always point to the waypoint, replacing the normal bug that would appear that reflects to the course to your next planned waypoint?

That’s correct, Tim. It just replicates the bearings to and from the selected point which are displayed numerically in the search bar with a needle pointer. Something like this (although I posted the wrong image with the needle in the wrong place!):
